Customized Containers: Because One Size Doesn’t Fit All

When it comes to protecting highly sensitive, delicate and/or expensive products from environmental factors and handling stresses, customized containers can be the best solution.

Historical Case in Point: The Wardian Case

An early example of a truly on-point custom container is the Wardian case, a 19th-century invention that transformed plant transport and cultivation.

Named after Dr. Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward, this ingenious custom wooden and glass creation was conceived in 1829. Dr. Ward, a British plant enthusiast, discovered that ferns sealed in glass thrived despite London’s polluted air, thanks to their self-sustaining microclimate.

The Wardian case became a revolutionary tool for safely transporting delicate plants over long sea voyages. As a result, these containers helped spread vital crops like rubber and tea around the globe, fostering agricultural innovation.

In this scenario, a standard container simply wouldn’t fit the bill. If you’re encountering a similar situation, no worries – we’ve got you!
